Mustang Youth Football is holding registration for its tackle and flag football programs. Tackle football is open to youngsters entering first or second grade. All equipment, except for protective cups and cleats, will be provided. The fee is $195 per player, with a $425 family maximum. NFL flag football is open to children in prekindergarten through kindergarten and is played Wednesdays or Saturdays. The cost is $75. Registration is open to children from all towns. There are no weight limits. Each child gets to keep a new jersey. Home games will be played at Marlboro High School, with a possible night game at St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel. Twin County Soccer of Brick will hold in-person registration for its micro and rec. soccer program 6-8 p.m. Aug 14 and 21 at the Twin County snack stand at the drum Point Sports Complex. Registration starts at $65 for the spring and fall seasons. The single season fee is $55 and each additional sibling can register for an additional $35. Registration is open to girls and boys that will be 4- to 8- years old by Feb. 1, 2010. A mid-summer ocean swim will be held in Lavallette on Aug. 8. Registration and check-in will take place 7-7:45 a.m. at the beach pavilion on Philadelphia Avenue at Ocean. The one-mile swim will begin at 8 a.m. for master's swimmers and 8:10 a.m. for the open swim. T-shirts will be provided to all swimmers, and awards will be presented to the top three males and females in each age group. The swim is coordinated by the Ocean County YMCA and the Lavallette Beach Patrol.
