      Dowling debuts as new BTHS football coach Fri.
            Anew era for Brick Township High School football begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 11, when the team takes the field against Colts Neck under new coach Patrick Dowling. Dowling succeeds New Jersey all-time winning coach Warren Wolf, who retired after 51 seasons and 361 victories last December. And that will give Dowling as much jitters at the kickoff as the players.

      Brick Memorial football team rebuilding after championship season
            Vin Sabba vividly remembers that Saturday night in early December last year when he wore a "club," a brace, on his sprained ankle, as he and his Brick Memorial football teammates beat Sayreville, 24-0, for the NJSIAA Group IV Central Jersey title and a 9-3 season.

      H.S. football teams assess upcoming season
            High school football fans in Brick with no particular allegiance to either high school will wish they could be in two places on Friday night. Brick Memorial and Brick Township high schools both play at home in 7 p.m. kickoffs against opponents bent on revenge after costly losses last year.

      Cal Ripken presidents reflect on memorable season
            The Brick American 12s' journey to the World Series in Aberdeen, Md., was a "magical ride," said Tom Nerney, president of the Brick American Cal Ripken organization. His team was a steamroller, blasting through the District 2, state and Mid-Atlantic Region tournaments en route to the World Series, where the boys split four games.
