Anew era for Brick Township High School football begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 11, when the team takes the field against Colts Neck under new coach Patrick Dowling. Dowling succeeds New Jersey all-time winning coach Warren Wolf, who retired after 51 seasons and 361 victories last December. And that will give Dowling as much jitters at the kickoff as the players. Vin Sabba vividly remembers that Saturday night in early December last year when he wore a "club," a brace, on his sprained ankle, as he and his Brick Memorial football teammates beat Sayreville, 24-0, for the NJSIAA Group IV Central Jersey title and a 9-3 season.
