Lillian Strakele Haines

Mrs. Haines, 88, of Rumson, died Sept. 11, 2009, at home. She had resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, Clark, and Sea Bright before relocating to Rumson 30 years ago. She was a secretary in Westfield and previously had been a secretary at Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School, Clark. Mrs. Haines was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in 2005; and a brother, Stephen Strakele Jr. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Lynne Haines of Fair Haven, and William and Norine Haines Jr. of Maryland; two sisters, Dorothy Bartz of Brick and Rose Hofmann of Rahway; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rahway. Arrangements were by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
