Halloween eve party to benefit Autism NJ

      BY MARK ROSMAN Staff Writer

The party room at the Park Avenue Bistro, 618 Park Ave. (Route 33), Freehold, will be rocking with the sounds of My Generation on Oct. 30.

Music from the 1960s to today will form the soundtrack for a Halloween eve special event for all ages. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., My Generation will perform danceable rock by the Rolling Stones to Bonjovi, and from the Doobie Brothers to Stevie Wonder, and a healthy dose of 1980s music, too.

Lead singer Lee Ottman, of Freehold Township, said the band has been together for a couple of months and is looking forward to playing a show that will benefit Autism New Jersey.

There will be a $10 cover charge. Children under 12 will be admitted free. The night will feature a costume contest and other contests. Door prizes and contest prizes will be provided by the Park Avenue Bistro and other businesses. Decorations will be provided by It's Your Party.

Ottman, who is also the singer in the local band NRG, is joined in My Generation by Tony DeFabritus (keyboards), Dave Passin (drums), Dan Palladino (guitar), Gary Shapiro (bass) and Paul Syvertsen (saxophone and guitar).

"Halloween is the next night and that's all about the kids. The night before Halloween is something for parents to do," Ottman said.

Extravagant Entertainment, of Marlboro, will provide the music in between My Generation's sets.
