      BHC's fledgling special-needs ice hockey program taking off
            BRICK TOWNSHIP — Although few have yet heard of the Brick Hockey Club Stars, Alex DePalma hopes to change that. "My goal for the program is to reach about 30 to 35 kids and find a team that plays other special ed kids," said DePalma, coaching director for the Brick Hockey Club.

      Brick Dragons Pee Wees win regional playoff game
            The Brick Dragons' unbeaten Pee Wees became what is believed to be the first team in that program's history to win a Pop Warner Mid-Atlantic regional playoff game. Brick's Joe Phillips led a 22-0 victory over the Marsh Creek Eagles of Montgomery County, Pa., 22-0, on Sunday, Nov. 8, with two touchdowns at the Marlboro Pop Warner complex.

            It was a wild scramble at the end of the season for Brick Memorial High School's girls field hockey team, as they had to dig out their uniforms just days after collecting them. They need them to compete in the NJSIAA Tournament.

      BTHS girls soccer earn their way to playoffs
            The first high school soccer team to stash away its equipment in past seasons in Brick Township is this fall's last team left standing. Brick Township High School's girls soccer team played in the NJSIAA Group III South Jersey section semifinals on Nov. 9 at Highland Regional High School. It is the Green Dragons' furthest postseason advance in 10 years.
