      Only four seniors returning from last year's A-South championship team
            The Brick Memorial High School boys basketball team goes into Friday night's season opener at home against Toms River South wiped out. Twelve seniors graduated from last year's 19-8 team that won Shore Conference A South, its third conference title in five years.

            The 14th annual Rowan University softballwinter hitting series will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday nights, Jan. 31, Feb. 14, 21, and 28, at the Esbjornson Gymnasium on the Rowan campus in Glassboro. Rowan head coach, Kim Wilson, coaching staff and players, will provide instruction. The cost is $100 per camper. Players must bring their own bat and sneakers.

            Brick Recreation Mat Rats I stretched their record to 4-0 in the Jersey Shore Junior Wrestling League with a pair of victories over Howell I, 54-31, and Howell II, 90-13, on Dec. 12 at Howell. Rob Ruggiero at 130 pounds and Tyler Clayton at 90 pinned both of their opponents and Joe Ghione at 95 recorded a pin and a technical fall.
