Reader predicts Democratic losses in November
Brick needs more civicminded people like John Ciocco, a person who has dedicated his time to helping our township in many ways too numerous to mention. I personally want to thank you for all your efforts, John.

I have promised myself that I would not be a name caller in this letter, although I want to know where I can sign up to become a "Republican Storm Trooper," as Harvey Langer has attached to John Ciocco, in a recent letter to the editor. I think I could be good at it, so watch out, Harvey.

A few weeks ago I read in the local papers that the Democratic Party of Brick has named four people to be placed on the ballot for election. Three candidates are listed for the council and one for the position of mayor. This is good because it's the American way, something we have been doing all our lives. No problem here.

When these candidates were interviewed, all mentioned that the recent incarceration of former Democratic Mayor Joe Scarpelli would have no bearing on their abilities to run for office. They suggested that the Scarpelli administration was a thing of the past and that they were not a part of it. Furthermore, they hoped that voters would not associate the candidates with Joe, who has paid his dues and is now supposedly in a halfway house. I guess they had wishful thinking.

I did not read one negative statement concerning this subject in the papers, so therefore I wonder why they brought the subject up in the first place. They started it, they attached themselves to it, so let them live with it.

Republicans uttered no names in the negative, and the only dirt that was thrown was by Harvey Langer, the head of the Brick Democratic Party. The mere fact that he is running makes it subject to thought. He causes dirt to be printed and then tosses it around trying to demonize people who love our township.

You're a loser, Langer, and I forecast a stunning defeat for your Brick teammates along with the forgetful "seat belt governor," who is efficiently imprecise while trying unsuccessfully to govern the great state of New Jersey. Another egghead yelled for change, but we in New Jersey will finally get it come November, when Chris Christie takes over.

Never badmouth John Ciocco. He has many Republican friends. Your words will come back to haunt you (in votes). Just wait and see.
