The Educational Foundation of the Brick Township Chamber of Commerce will hold a special event to congratulate and introduce their 2009 scholarship award recipients and celebrate the growth of their Tree of Learning at a cocktail party at the Brick Township Municipal Building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road.

The party, catered compliments of Carrabba's Italian Grill, will be held from 5-7 p.m. on May 26 and will include networking for the business community. The cost to attend is $20 per person. A "friend" sponsorship is also available for $50 and will include admission for one guest, sponsor's name on signage, in the Chamber of Commerce newsletter and on the Chamber of Commerce website.

The Tree of Learning is a decorative tree that adorns one of the central walls in the building and is a focal point for the thousands of people who visit the building each year. Donations made to honor or memorialize people, special life events and businesses are accepted, and leaves, boulders and medallions are inscribed with the names and added to the tree. Since its "planting" in 2004, the tree has been growing and this growth has helped fund scholarships for deserving students.

Kathi Evans, president and owner of All the Best Weddings, grew up in Jackson and is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and a co-coordinator of its Jersey Shore Local Networking Group.
