Senior says no to universal health care plan This is part of the senate version of the "stimulus" bill that includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens. The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle, needs to be committed to a nursing home for dreaming up this one. This is preposterous. Our health care is now going to be rationed if Barack Obama signs it. Obama will be attaching a price on human life and sending us to the funeral parlor before our time is up. This political scofflaw (Daschle) states that, "health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them." That's easy for him to say, read on. It was us who paid our dues to get him where he is now. What a mistake. I don't accept his opinion. If this doesn't make your blood boil, read on and remember that senators and congressmen have their own health care plan as a freebie and guaranteed for the remainder of their lives. Their plan is not subject to this new law if it passes. How's that sound? It seems as though they can walk on water. Doesn't it? Socialized medicine is not for Americans. It never was, and should never be, if we are to live out our lives in a secure environment, with medical care as we have become accustomed to, in our twilight days of senior living. Our young president and his stooges in Washington have put a "triage mandate" on the lives of seniors. Webster's dictionary defines triage as the process of sorting victims as of a battle or disaster, to determine priority of medical treatment with highest priority given to those having the greatest likelihood of survival. I cannot accept this as a senior, can you? I'm somebody and I'm willing to wait my turn. I'm used to getting in line as long as I know I will be treated. Keep reading. It gets worse. In England anyone over age 59 cannot receive heart repairs or stents or bypass because it is not covered as it is deemed too expensive and not needed. I would not be able to write this letter if I lived in England under socialized medicine, because at age 74 I received a triple bypass and later two stents and am now going this week for another stent. I would be tossed in the garbage five years ago if we had socialized medicine. Remember the above wording— not needed. Is this the way we will be treated? Lord have mercy on us if Obama gets his way and assigns a market value on our old bodies. How did we let this happen? Please do not let Obama sign our death warrants. I want to see my granddaughter grow up strong and healthy.
